We had a wonderful, bonding, challenging time at our Residential Conference venued at High Leigh Conference Centre in Hoddesdon, Herts.
‘The Courage to Change’
We learned about seeing the world, ourselves and our lifestyles differently. We were challenged by the hypothesis that we are living off our children’s inheritance, and the need to be more inclusive with our theology. We learned that organisations are not machines; if we expect them to behave as such, we are bound to fail in our projects. We learned that emotional damage can happen in infancy and were given hints on how to recognise such and make the allowances and offer the forgiveness that we all need.
More in our January 2009 issue of Way of Life.
Meanwhile, our next big project is our Day on Healing at Bury St Edmund’s Cathedral on 24 April 2010.

The Courage to Change: are we responsive Pilgrims ?
Dr Rupert Sheldrake (Below centre):
renowned biologist, Research Fellow of the Royal Society, Anglican, co-author with Matthew Fox, he studied with Bede Griffiths & will be sharing avant garde ideas about Creation. It is not a mere ‘thing’, but an organism that is alive, sacred and with whom we share some kind of consciousness. It is in all our interests to learn how to cherish and nurture this fundamental relationship.
‘The Carbon Coach’ is a chartered engineer, campaigner and consultant on climate change and responsible lifestyle. Dave will be giving down to earth do-able advice on how to help ‘save the planet’ and enhance our own enjoyment of life through less reliance on fossil fuel.
Management Consultant advising, among others, the Archdiocese of Canterbury, NASA, BP, BMW; & Local Preacher (URC), Terry will help us look at change in the face of our fallen human nature, in the light of the latest thinking in cognitive science, evolutionary psychology, socio-biology and behavioural economics. His insights will be relevant to organisations and individuals. ‘Behold I Make All Things New’ may never seem the same again!
